Ujjwal Roy, District Representative from Narail:
The mystery of the sensational murder of child Hamida in Narail's Naragati has been solved, the accused has been arrested. Ujjwal Roy, District Representative from Narail said that last (November 14, 2024) in Pakuria village under Narail Naragati police station, victim Hamida (6), father-Shahanur Sheikh, was murdered by Farida Begum, wife of neighbor Rabiul Sikder. In that incident, Narail Naragati police station case No. 2 dated (15/11/2024) Section-302/201/34 Penal Code was registered. Multiple teams of Naragati police station of Narail district entered the field to solve the mystery of the murder. Then, based on the evidence, Rabiul Sikder's daughter Sumi Khanam (14) was arrested at 09:05 on (1/12/2024) and Rabiul Sikder and his wife Farida Begum on (19/12/2024) for their involvement in the incident. According to the description of the accused Farida Begum, the victim, the deceased Hamida, was the daughter of their neighbors Shahanur Sheikh and Hawa Begum. The accused had a family dispute with the victims. They also had a family dispute with Tota Sikder, who lived on the other side of Rabiul's house. Due to the family dispute, Tota Sikder and his son Ferdous beat up Rabiul and his wife. The beating caused anger and resentment in Rabiul's family and they planned to take revenge. According to the said plan, Farida Begum wrote some notes with her daughter Sumi and set fire to the area around the victim Hamida's house. Rabiul and his family members repeatedly blamed Tota's son Ferdous for writing these notes and setting fire. When the said incidents happened more than once, the family members of the victim Hamida also started suspecting Ferdous. Taking this opportunity, Farida Begum found Hamida alone on Thursday afternoon, grabbed her by the face, suffocated her to death, stuffed her in a white plastic bag and left her in the paddy field. So that no one would suspect the accused Farida Begum, she went to the paddy field with the victim Hamida's father and Rabiul to water it and blamed the said murder on Tota and his family members. The accused Farida Begum confessed to the crime and gave a statement in the learned court under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
