Husband killed by wife due to family dispute in village of Narail, wife arrested. Md Imrul Islam (37), father Md Abdullah Ghazi, mother Rajia Begum, Sang-Sridharpur, Thana-Abhaynagar, District Jessore, his younger brother Md Shimul Hossain Gazi (34) married widow Mosa Poly Khatun about 5 years ago. Ujjbal Roy, Narail district representative said, Mosha: Poli Khatun has bought land in Kaichdah village under Narail Sadar police station and started living with two sons and one daughter of Poli Khatun's 1st husband. Md. Shimul Hossain used to stay at his 2nd wife Polly Khatun's house most of the time. From time to time he used to come to his own house in Sridharpur village and after two days he would again go to his 2nd wife Polly Khatun. Last August 31/ around 4:00 PM, Shimul Hossain came to their house in Sridharpur and left the house by paying Rs.500/- for the household market. Later on last 6/9/ at 7:39 in the evening, Shimul's mobile received a message from the mobile of his son Raihan (14) that who had taken him. Locked up somewhere, took away his mobile phone and money, will talk later when he has time. After receiving the said message, when calling Shimul's mobile number, the number was found to be closed. Later, when Md. Imrul Islam called Mosha Poly Khatun and asked about his brother Shimul, he said that Shimul Hossain had beaten him and left the house at around 10 o'clock last night (September 2). Since then he knows nothing.
Md. Imrul Islam filed a complaint at the Abhaynagar police station of Jessore district on September 7 about not being able to find his brother Shimul. But as the plaintiff's brother's 2nd wife's house is in Narail and his brother is also living in Narail, Abhaynagar police asked them to take help of Narail police. As the plaintiff's brother's mobile number was switched off and Polly Khatun could not provide any information, he kept searching for his brother Shimul in various places. At one stage of the search, on Monday (9/9/) around 9:30 in the morning, Shimul Hossain's second wife, Poli Khatun, came to the house of Kaichdah under Narail Sadar police station and asked where her brother was. Poly Khatun got angry with them. At one point, when the people around gathered, they went to the neighboring Sheikhhati police camp and told the details of the incident, and the police called Poli Khatun and called him to the camp. When Poli Khatun arrived at the camp, the police interrogated him about not finding the plaintiff's brother. During the police interrogation, he is suspected to be scared and uttering random words. Then the plaintiff along with the police went to Poli Khatun's house again and searched around the house and the house. They found the mark of digging the ground under a wooden post and the ground was a little high in the western door of the defendant's house. Apart from that, there are cement sacks filled with sand. When the matter became suspicious to them, Sheikhhati camp in-charge SI/Md. Shafiqul Islam arrested Poli Khatun.
Under the guidance of the new Superintendent of Police of Narail district, Kazi Ehsanul Kabir, Sadar Circle Additional Superintendent of Police Md. Dolan Mia and Officer-in-Charge of Narail Sadar Police Station Mohammad Saiful Islam, along with other police officers, accused: Poly Khatun (36), father Md Noor Mohammad Molya, mother Maina Khatun, After questioning her husband Md. Shimul Hossain Gazi, Sang-Kaichdah, Thana and District-Narail, she confessed to killing her husband.
According to the evidence of the defendant Poly Khatun, the half-decomposed body of the plaintiff's younger brother Shimul was recovered by digging the soil from the hole in his chapra. The police made a report of the condition of the body and sent the body to Narail Sadar Hospital morgue. Accused Mocha: During the interrogation of Poly Khatun, she admitted that on the previous (2/9) night at approximately 11:00 o'clock, due to a family dispute, she mixed sleeping pills with rice to her husband. In this, while her husband was unconscious after consuming medicated rice, on the night of 3/9/ approximately 1:30 to 2:00, the accused Poli Khatun dragged her husband from the house to the courtyard of his house with a long thick white rope. He tied the rope around his neck and strangled him to death. In order to kill her husband and bury the body, she buried the body in a single-storey tin shed fenced house in the west side of her house and buried the body in a cement bag filled with sand and then buried the body with a wooden post on top of it.
The accused has been produced before the learned Court. The accused pleaded guilty and gave a confessional statement under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure before the learned Court.
