An intense conflict is going on across the Nafna River in Cox's Bazar's Teknaf under the control of Myanmar. A char named Laldia is located on the eastern side of Nafnadi Teknaf near Jaliardia on Myanmar waters.
The firing started at 12 noon on Wednesday (September 18) and continued till 3 pm. In the incident of shelling from both sides, the Teknaf land port office, a cargo truck and the living room of a local man have already been hit by bullets. The continuous sound of gunfire in Damdamiya area including the land port of Teknaf has created panic among the locals.
Local people including local representatives, port authorities have confirmed this information. Local people said that the Arkan Army wants to take control of the Rohingya terrorist group RSO stationed in Laldia Char. For this last Wednesday (September 11) there was a shooting. In the second phase, the conflict is going on again on Wednesday.
Muhammad Ali, UP member No. 9 of Hnila Union, said that on Wednesday afternoon, the sound of gunfire shook the port area including Damdamiya area. The bullets fired in the conflict have already reached the house of a man named Ayub of Damdamia. The window of the house, the cupboard inside the house were broken. A few shells have also arrived at the port.
Syed Mohammad Anwar Hossain, the manager of United Land Port Limited Teknaf, the company managing the land port, said that he heard the sound of gunshots while staying at the office at noon. At one point, the window of the office was shot. The window breaks. Meanwhile, the window of a truck carrying port goods was broken by bullets.
He said, earlier on Wednesday-Thursday also the sound of gunshots was heard. Everyone is in panic due to the sound of gunshots. The operation of the port is closed.
