HM Nasir Uddin Jhalkathi Correspondent:- Acting Headmaster Jasmine Akhtar and her brother Peon Alamgir of that school have been accused of attacking assistant teacher Shafiqul Islam Farid with hired men due to protesting various irregularities of Government Primary School No. 61 North Palat in Rajapur, Jhalkathi. In addition, there were complaints that 3 students from other schools participated in the second provisional examination due to lack of students.
This incident happened in the class room of the school on Sunday afternoon. Assistant teacher Shafiqul Islam complained that acting head teacher Jasmine Akhter and her brother Alamgir Hossain, peon of that school, do not come properly or do classes and have been doing various irregularities including taking the school laptop home and using it for personal work. Acting head teacher Jasmine Akhter and her brother Alamgir Hossain, peon of that school, protested on these issues and the assistant teacher Shafiqul Islam Farid was physically assaulted by entering the school.
In the second temporary examination of that school, 8 students of 4th and 5th class were seen to participate, but in 4th class, 3 students of another school took part in the exam. Among them, Hafsa Akhter is a 7th class student of Farzana Baraiah Secondary School whose roll number is 31. The other two are Qazi Al Raofi Islam Bappi, a class 3 student of Madhya Baraiya No. 58 Primary School, whose roll is No. 19 and Hafizur Islam Sayyem, whose roll is No. 17.
Principal of Madhya Baraiya No. 58 Primary School Haroon Or Rashid said that both of them are 3rd class students of Madhya Baraiya No. 58 Primary School. They are availing Unique ID and Scholarship from this school.
Denying the allegations of attack, Jasmin Akhter, Acting Headmaster of North Palat Government Primary School No. 61 and his brother Alamgir Hossain, Peon of the school, said that assistant teacher Shafiq came to the school late and chased the students away without conducting classes properly. Locals got angry and beat him in these incidents, he is not involved in these incidents. He claimed that the students of other schools were given the test, but they were students of his school. The laptop is at school, I left it at home today.
Upazila Primary Education Officer Akhter Hossain said that assistant teacher Shafiqul Islam will investigate and take necessary measures regarding irregularities and beatings if he gives a written complaint.
