Members of RAB-15 arrested a drug dealer named Mohammad Farooq (46) along with 3 thousand 150 pieces of yaba in Chandalipara area under Teknaf police station of Cox's Bazar.

The arrested person is Mohammad Farooq (46), son of deceased Syed Ahmed of Ward No. 5 Chandulipara area of Sabrang Union of Teknaf Upazila.

He said that on Friday (September 20) night, based on a tip-off, some drug dealers were staying at the residence of one Syed Ahmed of Chandulipara area under Teknaf Police Station, Subrang Union No. 1, for the purpose of buying and selling illegal drugs Yaba tablets. On such news, a smart raiding team of RAB-15, Battalion Headquarters conducted an anti-narcotics operation at the place. During the operation, after realizing the presence of the RABEB raiding party at the said spot, he was able to arrest Farak while he was trying to escape from the house. Later, in front of the present witnesses, the arrested person's body was searched and a total of 3 thousand 150 pieces of Yaba tablets were recovered from his custody and 1 button phone was seized.

The name and address of the arrested drug dealer is known in the preliminary investigation. Arrested Farooq used to buy Yaba tablets at wholesale price from various media in the border area and sell the purchased Yaba tablets at retail price in various places of Cox's Bazar including Teknaf.
