A young army officer was killed in an anti-robbery operation at Chakoria in Cox's Bazar

 At around 3:00 pm, based on intelligence information, a team of Bangladesh Army rushed from Chakoria Army Camp after receiving information about a robbery in East Maijpara village of Dulhazara Union under Chakoria Upazila. At around 4:00 a.m. while conducting a raid at Maijpara village, a dacoit party of 7/8 members on sensing the presence of a Saina patrol fled elsewhere, Lt. Tanzim Charwar Nirjan (23) (BA-11453) chased some of the dacoit party. Meanwhile, members of the dacoit gang stabbed Lt. Tanzim Charwar Nirjan in the neck, seriously injuring him and causing him to bleed profusely. Lieutenant Tanzim Charwar was immediately rescued and taken to Malumghat Memorial Hospital where he was declared dead by the doctor on duty. It may be noted that Lt. Tanzim Charwar was born in a noble Muslim family in the secluded Tangail district. This talented young army officer was commissioned in the Army Service Corps (ASC) on 08 June 2022 from Bangladesh Military Academy with the 82nd long term course after completing higher secondary from Pabna Cadet College.

It is to be noted that 01 locally made gun, 06 rounds of ammunition were recovered from the scene along with 3 robbers. Besides, 03 more people were arrested on suspicion of dacoity.
