Jamal Uddin - Cox's Bazar District Representative
The raid team of RAB learned from confidential sources that a person is staying in Battali Baraitli area of Palongkhali Union under Ukhia police station of Cox's Bazar district for the purpose of buying and selling drugs. Based on the said information, on 05 September 2024 at approximately 01.45 hours, a vigilant raiding team of RAB-15, CPC-2 Hoikang Camp, while conducting an anti-narcotics operation in the said area, suspected the presence of RAB and chased a Rohingya child named Osman who was involved in conflict with the law while trying to escape. The terrorist was arrested. During preliminary interrogation, the arrested person admitted to possessing illegal weapons along with disclosure of his name and address. After searching the body of the arrested person in front of the present witnesses, 01 LG and 01 (one) round cartridge of domestic manufacture were recovered.
3. The details of the arrested terrorist are known as Md. Osman (16) (Rohingya citizen), Father-Abdus Salam, Sang-Balukhali-1, Camp No-8/W, Block-A/54, Thana-Ukhia, District-Cox's Bazar. Preliminary investigation revealed that the arrested Osman is a citizen of a neighboring country who was forcibly displaced. He used to collect illegal arms from Ukhia border areas for sale. He also said that he used to organize various criminal activities centered around the spread of drugs and domination in the Rohingya camp area.
4. A written statement has been submitted to Ukhia police station to take necessary legal action against the arrested terrorist along with recovered weapons.
