1 lakh 60 thousand Yaba recovered from bags left by smugglers, arrest-1

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested one person along with 1 lakh 60 thousand pieces of Yaba from Teknaf border of Cox's Bazar.

The arrested drug dealer is Md Irfan (22), son of Noor Hossain of Hoikung Kanjar Para village of Teknaf.
Teknaf 2BGB Battalion Commander Lt. Col. Md. Mohiuddin Ahmed confirmed this information to the media.
He said, on Sunday (September 8) night, a team of Teknaf 2BGB battalion, based on secret information, a shipment of drugs may come from Myanmar to Bangladesh through the area called Gher of the responsible major of Unchiprang BOP under the battalion. In view of Eru, an anti-smuggling patrol of Unchiprang BOP of BGB went to the said place and divided into several squads and took a strategic position along the salt field aisle. After some time the patrol found 5 persons with several bags and crossed the Naf river and crossed the embankment towards the salt field. see As their movements were observed suspicious, when the BGB patrol challenged them, they tried to run away as soon as they noticed the presence of the BGB patrol. BGB patrols gave chase and managed to arrest one of them and the others dropped their bags and fled towards the neighboring village under the cover of night. Later, 1 lakh 60 thousand pieces of Yaba tablets were recovered from the four plastic bags left by them.

He also said that the process of handing over the arrested person to Teknaf Model Police Station through a regular case along with the seized Yaba tablets is under process.
