BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia's defamation case dismissed

The court dismissed the defamation case filed against BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia. Judge Md. Jewel Rana of Narail Senior Judicial Magistrate Court gave this order on Thursday afternoon. Ujjal Roy, Narail district representative said, advocate Iqbal Hossain Sikder, the lawyer of BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, confirmed the matter and said that the complaint was filed by Ashiq Billah, son of deceased Wazed Ali of Jadavpur village of Kalia upazila of Narail, in the name of BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.

It is alleged in the case that Narail Amli filed a defamation complaint against Khaleda Zia on December 29 of that year for making adverse comments at a meeting in Dhaka on December 21, 2015 about the number of freedom fighters.
The court accepted the complaint and ordered an investigation by Sadar police station. The police investigated the complaint and submitted a report on August 24, 2016 that found the truth of the complaint. of which CR No-28/21. Taking cognizance of the crime against the accused, the court issued summons on February 7, 2021.
On Thursday, the judge dismissed the case as the plaintiff did not appear in court for a long time.
