The situation in Dhaka was extremely difficult due to the curfew on Monday. Recently, massive student-led protests broke out over the government job quota system, which gradually turned violent. The government has imposed a nationwide curfew and deployed the army to control the situation.
Sporadic clashes are still taking place in some areas in Dhaka, and roadblocks have been created in many parts of the city. Universities and colleges have been closed and all offices except emergency services have been closed. Also, internet and mobile services are down, leaving people unable to communicate outside the country and finding it difficult to get local media updates.
The protesters are demanding the abolition of the quota system and agitating for a merit-based recruitment system. The government has informed that if the situation worsens, the army may take strict action
