A young man named Zia Chowdhury was arrested by the police while trying to trap an Awami League leader with 500 pitches of yaba due to social conflict in Lohagra Upazila of Narail.

This incident took place in Chardaulatpur area of ​​Itna Union of the upazila on Thursday (March 28) morning. The officer-in-charge of the police station confirmed the truth of the incident.

The victim Awami League leader Lichu Kazi, who came out of police custody in the evening, said that on his way back to Pankharchar home from Chardaulatpur market, when he reached in front of Dinu Molya's shop, accused Zia called him and sat him down. Sitting next to him, Zia tactfully slipped a packet into Punjabi's pocket and clashed with him. Zia stuck five polybags with blue zippers in his pocket. At that time, the police took me to the police station for questioning. I was released later in the evening.

He further said that the adversaries tried to frame Yaba through Zia in a well-planned way to humiliate the society. As the truth was revealed, by God's infinite mercy I was freed from the charges. He demanded exemplary punishment for Zia and others involved in this incident.

According to police sources, a team of Lohagara police station went to the field to find out the truth of Awami League leader's involvement with Yaba. Later, the police arrested the young man named Zia, the main planner involved in the incident.

Lohagarh Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Kanchan Kumar Roy said that a drug dealer named Zia Chowdhury was arrested in the anti-narcotics operation. A drug case has been registered in the police station in this incident. Later, when the arrested Zia was brought to court, the court sent him to jail.
