UP Chairman arrested on suspicion of hacking Svechasevak League leader in Jhalkathi

The police have detained Siddhakathi Union chairman Kazi Jasmine Akhter for questioning on the suspicion of being involved in the murder of Kazi Ziaul Islam Fuad (40), President of Siddhakathi Union Volunteer League of Nalchiti Upazila of Jhalkathi.

He was arrested from his house in Siddhakathi Union on Friday (March 29) around 12:00 pm.

On Saturday (March 30) the matter was confirmed by the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Nalchiti Police Station Md. Murad Ali.

Incidentally, miscreants hacked Fuad Kazi to death on his way home after Awami League's victory procession in Masjid Bari area of ​​Chauddaburia village of Siddhakathi Union last Sunday (January 7) night. In this incident, Fuad's elder brother Faisal Kazi filed a case against unknown persons on the night of January 8.

OC Mohammad Murad Ali said that the police had earlier arrested three people including UP member Rafiqul Islam Hawladar on the charge of killing volunteer league leader Fuad Kazi. Siddhakathi Union Chairman Kazi Jasmine Akhtar has also been detained for questioning on suspicion of involvement in the murder. At the end of the interrogation, it can be said whether he will be arrested.
