(Meherpur) Representative:

18 years ago, Aklima Khatun, who grew up in a poor family, was injured and lost both legs when the bus overturned on her way home from college. He did not recover after treatment in different hospitals of the country. However, he succeeded in fighting the struggle of life with immobile legs. She is now working as a teacher in a government primary school.

Life activist Aklima is the daughter of deceased Zayad Ali of Raipur village in Gangni upazila of Meherpur district. She is working as an assistant teacher in Raipur Government Primary School.

Aklima is not handicapped by birth. On March 6, 2006, on her way home from Meherpur Government College, Honors 1st year student Aklima Khatun was injured in a road accident and injured both legs. Despite being treated in various hospitals including the capital Dhaka, both legs could not be moved. Aklima Khatun did not stop even though her legs were immobile. He continued his education while sitting in a wheel chair, and was successful in his life struggle.

And while coming to school, he uses a battery powered wheelchair. He returned to the school classroom and took classes in a wheelchair.

This is how his life is going. Aklima believes that every parent should give opportunities to their disabled, disabled children to do good things without making them feel like a burden.

In 2010, Aklima got a job as an assistant teacher in a government primary school.

This story of life was not so easy for Akali. Many ups and downs have to come this far. It was possible to come this far because my mother, father and brothers were by my side during that difficult time of life.

Many people said what is the use of spending money unnecessarily on his education. People with disabilities are not a burden to society. Aklima is an example of the good role they will play in the society if they are given a chance. Moves in a wheelchair at home. And while coming to school, he uses a battery powered wheelchair. He returned to the school classroom and took classes in a wheelchair.

This is how his life is going. Aklima believes that every parent should give opportunities to their disabled, disabled children to do good things without making them feel like a burden.

Raipur Government Primary School Principal Fajiara Khatun along with assistant teachers said the same thing.

Aklima got married in 2018 to Dakshinpur Moharram Ali of Nater Sadar Upazila. Swami Muharram Ali is currently working at Legal Aid. Their husband-wife family is going well.

Aklima Khatun's mother Mumtaz Khatun Jasna said, "My daughter has come back from the face of death." Even though both legs were immobilized, he did not stop writing. Now working in a government primary school. She does all her household chores by herself, I help when she can't.

Aklima's younger brother Alamin Hassan said, "My sister was mentally broken after the accident, but after going to several hospitals, she regained her confidence after seeing many people who had the same accident." As a result, he said that he started studying again and working.

Aklima's colleagues said,

Aklima madam took class well. Come to school on time. He is a very sincere person. Why did the students not come to school in wheelchairs and went to his house and inquired.

Even though Aklima is physically sick, like the other five, she does her work by herself and does better than expected. He never came late to school.

Gangni Upazila Education Officer Nanir Uddin said, I know about Aklima, she is our pride. Seeing him, there are other people in the society who are having similar problems. I think they will turn around.
