Relatives are crying at Sahiduzzaman's house in Shahi Masjid Mahalla of Naogaon Sadar Upazila under the hands of pirates in the Indian Ocean. After hearing the news of his son's hostage, the relatives are crying and lamenting. His wife Manna Tahreen Shatadha is praying for Akhtar's husband and all the pirates on the ship. May her husband and all sailors be freed from hostages and returned to their relatives.
Sahiduzzaman of Naogaon is among the 23 sailors aboard the cargo ship MV Abdullah, which was captured by pirates in the Indian Ocean. He is the second son of Professor Qayyum of Shahi Masjid Mahalla of Naogaon Sadar Upazila. He passed SSC from Naogaon KD High School in 1994. After passing Intermediate from Naogaon Government College in 1996, he was admitted to Chittagong Marine Academy. He passed from there with honors and got a job as a marine engineer on a ship in December 1999. Another elder brother of Sahiduzzaman has worked as a mariner for a long time. He has a six-month-old daughter who has been named Meherima Safrin Zaman after her father.
Sahiduzzaman's wife Manna Tahreen Shatadha Akhter said, "My husband told us yesterday Tuesday afternoon at 3:30 p.m. that he was caught by pirates on the phone. The last talk was at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The pirates still did not physically torture them. They locked them in a room on the ship and arranged Sehri and Iftar because it was Ramadan. He also said that they will not be released unless they pay a ransom of 5 million dollars. They are now heading to Somalia. .
On Tuesday around 12 noon everyone is spending the day in fear after getting the news that the MV Abdullah ship was captured by pirates.
