Barrister Syed Sayedul Haque Sumon was the candidate of Boat in Habiganj-4 (Chunarughat-Madhavpur) constituency in the upcoming 12th National Assembly Elections, Advocate Mahbub Ali, Minister of State for Civil Aviation and Tourism. He defeated the boat candidate by one lakh votes and was elected as an independent candidate. The main election manifesto of Barrister Syed Syedul Haque Sumon was to transform Chunarughat-Madhavpur upazila into a tourist city and serve the common poor and hardworking people by ensuring overall development.
Barrister Syed Syedul Haque Sumon said, 'There are 28 tea gardens in Chunarughat-Madhavpur. There is Satchari National Park. Rema-Kalenga is the largest forest reserve in Bangladesh after the Sundarbans. There is immense potential for tourism here.
Development of tourism in these two upazilas will provide employment to thousands of youth. Tourists from the country and abroad will come to visit.
Barrister Suman also said, 'There is an old Khoain river about three kilometers long next to Chunarughat municipality. The river had become a municipal waste. The river is being cleaned. A walkway will be built in the river.
Talking about the plan to build two mini stadiums in Chunarughat and Madhavpur, Suman said, 'Chunarughat will be made the capital of football. Apart from this, I will establish two women's colleges in Chunarughat and Madhavpur. It is necessary to stop the auction syndicate of tea gardens.
Along with this, Barrister Sumon, Member of Parliament, announced the launch of the closed Chunarughat Balla-Shaestaganj railway line. As an independent candidate in the 12th National Parliament election, barrister Suman won by getting 1 lakh 69 thousand 99 votes with the eagle symbol.
