Attack on journalist due to previous enmity in Daulatpur, 4 injured

 Daulatpur of Kushtia due to the previous dispute over land. A journalist named Salim Reza Roni (38) and his family members were attacked. They were seriously injured. His mother, brother and brother's wife were injured in the attack. They have been admitted to Daulatpur Upazila Health Complex. This incident happened at the house of journalist Salim Reza Roni of Jairampur village of Hogalbaria Union of Upazila on Monday (March 11) afternoon.

The other injured in the attack are - Journalist Salim Reza Ma Mocha. Sheila Akhtar (50), his younger brother Shimul Reza, brother's wife Marina Khatun.

Salim Reza Roni is working as Channel S and Jatiya Daily Khola Kaghe as Daulatpur-Bheramara representative, as well as a contractor businessman. Media workers working in the district and upazila expressed anger over the attack. They demanded the quick arrest of the attackers. Journalist Salim Reza Roni said that there had been a dispute with Abdul Majid's family over their land for a long time. On Monday afternoon, Abdul Majeed, Enamul, Tuhin, Sonia, Rohan Desi also entered our house with weapons, sticks and rods and broke the windows and doors of the house. Then, when my mother stopped them, Enamul Hossain, on the orders of Abdul Majeed, hit my mother's head with a sharp smile and caused a bloody wound. When I went to protect my younger brother Shimul Reza and his wife Marina, 4/5 people including Enamul Hossain, Abdul Majid attacked us all. All of us were seriously injured.Later, when the police reached the spot, we were admitted to Daulatpur Hospital with the help of the locals and received treatment.

Journalist Salim Raza alleged that two lakh one thousand five hundred rupees in his pants pocket was taken out by Tuhin. In this incident, journalist Salim Reza filed a written complaint at Daulatpur police station. Daulatpur Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Rafiqul Islam said, we have received a written complaint in this regard and necessary measures will be taken after investigation.
