6,80,000/- fined to seven establishments for conducting anti-adulterated food drive in Gurdaspur, Natore.
Since its inception, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has been playing a leading role in bringing all types of criminals under the law to maintain the overall law and order situation of the country. RAB has been conducting regular operations against militants, terrorists, organized criminals, armed criminals, narcotics, bootleggers and counterfeit goods.
In continuation of this, an operation team of CPC-2, Natore Camp, RAB-5, Rajshahi and National Consumer Rights Protection in Chachkoid, Kumarkhali, Kandail area of Gurdaspur police station of Natore district on 13 February 2024 from 10.00 hrs to 19.00 hrs. Directorate, Natore district office conducted a special joint operation against adulterated food for the crime of making, storing and selling adulterated food and producing food in unhygienic environment
(1) Consumer Rights Protection Act-2009 against "Hazi Abdul Aziz Gold Traders" 2,50,000/- under Sections 43 and 44 thereof.
(2) Rs.1,90,000/- under Section 44 of the Consumer Rights Protection Act-2009 to M/s Bhai Bhai Banijaloy.
(3) ``Al Amin 1,50,000/- to Traders” under section 42 of the Consumer Rights Protection Act-2009.
(4) Rs.25,000/- to “M/s Muktar Enterprises” under section 43 of the Consumer Rights Protection Act-2009,.
(5) ' 20,000/- to ``Pabna Bakeri'' under Section 43 of Consumer Rights Protection Act-2009.
(6) Rs.10,000/- to “Sheikh Agro Trading” factory under Section 43 of Consumer Rights Protection Act-2009.
(7) Rs.35,000/- to “Raj Bekari” under Sections 42 and 43 of Consumer Rights Protection Act-2009.
Fines were imposed and huge quantities of adulterated jaggery, jaggery raw materials, adulterated biscuits, biscuit raw materials were seized. Subsequently, a total fine of Rs.6,80,000/- was deposited in the government treasury.
