Death of husband and wife due to gas line explosion in Rupganj, Narayanganj

 A husband and wife have died due to gas line explosion in Rupganj, Narayanganj. They died while undergoing treatment at Sheikh Hasina National Burn and Plastic Surgery Institute on Saturday (February 3) night. Officer-in-Charge (OC) Deepak Chandra Saha of Rupganj Police Station confirmed the death.

They are Shamim Islam son of Shamsul Haque of Taraganj Upazila of Rangpur District and his wife Jahanara. They lived on rent in Abu Musa Mia's house in Nayapara area.

Dhaka Medical College (DMH) Hospital Police Outpost Inspector Bachchu Mia said that there was a loud explosion in the gas line at the rented house of Abu Musa Mia in Kawarchar Nayapara area of ​​Golakandail Union of Rupganj Upazila on Saturday morning. Husband Shamim Mia and wife Jahanara were burnt in the house. The locals rescued them and admitted them to the hospital. They died later that night while undergoing treatment. The bodies were sent to their village home Rangpur.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Rupganj Police Station Deepak Chandra Saha said that the police were sent to the spot after receiving information about the gas line explosion. Their bodies have been handed over to their families. The matter is being investigated.
