Chhatra League leader's office attacked in Savar, 2 injured

 

The supporters of one BCL leader attacked and vandalized another BCL leader's office for protesting against drugs in Savar. In this incident, two injured people were rescued and admitted to Upazila Health Complex.

On Wednesday afternoon, there was an attack on the office of Hriday Khan Subhash, Vice President of Dhaka District North Chhatra League in Chhayabeethi Mahalla of Savar Municipal Area. Preparations are underway to file a case at Savar Model Police Station in this incident.

Sharif (21) and Jihad (18) who were injured in the incident are employees of Chhatra League leader Subhash's office. On the other hand, Nizamuddin Tipu Savar Upazila Chhatra League accused in the attack.

Eyewitnesses said that hundreds of supporters of Chhatra League leader Nizamuddin Tipu, including Rafat, Nazrul, Saikat, Roni, Johnny, suddenly attacked the office of Subhash, Vice President of Dhaka District North Chhatra League on Wednesday afternoon with sticks, ramdas, chapatis and native weapons. At this time, shutters, glass and furniture of the office were vandalized. Sharif and Jihad who were working in that office were injured by the attackers' bricks.

After receiving the information, the police visited the spot. Besides, the injured have been rescued and admitted to Savar Upazila Health Complex.

Since this incident, the situation has been calm in the area. Locals are afraid of another clash between the two sides at any moment.

In this incident, Vice President of Dhaka District North Chhatra League Hriday Khan Subhash said that the vice president of Upazila Chhatra League, Nizamuddin Tipu, has been controlling the drug business of Chayabithi Mohalla for a long time. A few days ago, on the information given by him, the police came and arrested some of Tipu's supporters with drugs and attacked the office.He demanded exemplary punishment for this incident.

On the other hand, Savar Upazila Chhatra League vice-president Nizam Uddin Tipu, accused in the attack, said, "I do not know anything about the incident of the attack." I have no involvement in this incident.

Officer-in-charge (OC) of Savar Model Police Station Akbar Ali Khan said that the police visited the spot after receiving the information. After investigation, necessary legal action will be taken against the culprits.
