Fortune Barisal and Chittagong Challengers entered the field in the second match of the day in BPL 2024. Shubhagat Home team has given Tamim Bahini a target of 146 runs after winning two consecutive matches in the Sylhet phase.
Chittagong collected 145 runs by losing 5 wickets at Mirpur Sherebangla Stadium on Tuesday (February 6). Tom Bruce played the highest unbeaten innings of 50 runs for the team.
Chittagong got off to a good start after losing the toss and batting. Tanjid Hasan Tamim and Australia's Jos Brown made a partnership of 39 runs in the opening pair. Tanjid Tamim returned with just 10 runs off 19 balls. Brown played a blistering innings of 38 off 23 balls with one four and four sixes. Shahadat Dipu and Najibullah Zadran also could not do justice to the name. The two fell prey to Pakistani recruit Mohammad Imran for 15 and 4 respectively.
Saikat Ali also did not last long. The right-handed batsman was dismissed by Abbas Afridi for 11 runs with the help of a six. English cricketer Tom Bruce single-handedly led the Challengers to a respectable place. The right-handed batsman played an unbeaten innings of 50 runs off 40 balls. Mohammad Imran took 2 wickets for 31 runs.
