Eyewitnesses said that the shootings were happening intermittently since Saturday afternoon. Today, the vast area of Naikshyongchari bordering Naikshyongchari is shaking with the loud sound of continuous firing, mortar shells and rocket launcher explosions.
Earlier last night, a mortar shell fell on the residence of Elias Hussain in Tumbru Konarpara. But no one was injured.
Ghumdhum Union Parishad Chairman Jahangir Aziz said, "We are still hearing the sound of heavy gunfire in Myanmar." This time the people of Bangladesh bordering Bangladesh have been asked to be careful as the sound of the gunshots is more intense.
34 BGB Commander Lt. Col. Mohammad Saiful Islam Chowdhury said that BGB is on alert regarding the possible infiltration of Rohingyas. Surveillance has been increased in border areas. Not a single Rohingya will be allowed to enter again.
