Awami League got permission to hold a rally in Dhaka under the conditions

 


Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has given permission to Awami League to hold an election rally. However, 20 conditions have been added. The party will hold a public meeting at Kalabagan ground in Dhanmondi on Monday (January 1) at 2 pm. Where party president and prime minister Sheikh Hasina will speak as the chief guest.


On Saturday (December 30), an office document signed by Deputy Police Commissioner (Operations) Abu Yusuf on behalf of the DMP Commissioner was sent to Dhaka Metropolitan South Awami League Office Secretary Riaz Uddin Riaz.




(1) This permit is not a permission to use the space, permission must be obtained from the concerned authorities for using the space.


(2) The terms and conditions specified in the space usage permit must be duly observed.


(3) All the activities of the election public meeting should be restricted to the approved place.


(8) In no case shall any public assembly be held outside the authorized place.


(5) Adequate number of volunteers (with visible ID cards) should be recruited under own management for security.


(6) To prevent noise pollution, use of microphone/audio should be limited, no microphone/audio should be used outside the approved area.


(7) Projectors shall not be placed outside the permitted area.


(8) Mic/Speaker shall not be used during Azan, Namaz and other religiously sensitive times.


(9) Caricatures, speeches or propaganda on any subject likely to hurt religious sentiments shall not be allowed. Under no circumstances should obstruction be created in the movement of vehicles on the main road.


10) The stage shall not be used for any purpose other than the election public meeting.


(11) (12) Activities that disrupt law and order and public safety shall not be carried out.


(13) No anti-state activity or speech shall be given.


(14) No inflammatory speech shall be made or pamphlets distributed.


(15) Sticks or rod-like objects of any kind shall not be used behind the banners of election public meetings.


(16) The organizing authority will be responsible for the breakdown of law and order and any untoward situation.


(17) Rules of Conduct for Twelfth Parliament Elections-2024 should be duly followed.


(18) Bangladesh Election Commission's Memorandum No-17.00.0000.034.36.018.23 (Part-6)-776 Date-12/12/2023 AD and Public Security Department, Ministry of Home Affairs' Memorandum No-44.00. 0000.079.01.002.2023-552 dated-14/12/2023 A.D. notification to be duly followed.


(19) If the said conditions are not duly complied with, this permission order shall be deemed to be canceled with immediate effect.


(20) The Authority reserves the right to cancel this permission order without assigning any reason in public interest.


Earlier on Thursday (December 28) Dhaka Metropolitan North and South Awami League sent a letter to Dhaka Divisional Commissioner and Returning Officer seeking permission for this public meeting.
