The top leaders of the 12-party alliance strongly condemned and protested against the arrest of BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Sunday, October 29.
In the statement, the leaders of the 12-party alliance demanded the immediate release of Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and said that the government cannot be suppressed by arresting the top leader of the opposition party, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir. Democratic forces around the world have stood by the democracy-loving people of Bangladesh against Sheikh Hasina's illegally elected anti-humanitarian government. Hasina's government will fall through a popular uprising and that is inevitable. The perpetrators will have no escape. I appeal to the illegal government to stop the unlimited torture and repression and release BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.
