Birth and Education: Humayun Faridi was born on May 29, 1952 in Chuaria village of Tumulia Union of Kaliganj Upazila of Gazipur district. Father's name is ATM Nurul Islam and mother's name is Begum Farida Islam. Humayun Faridi is the second of four siblings. He was admitted to the United Islamia Government High School in Madaripur district in 1965. He entered the theater world from Madaripur district. He made his debut in front of the audience by playing the role of 'Ratna' in Kalyan Mitra's 'Triratna' play by joining the Shilpi Natyagruna organization founded by drama guru Bashar Mahmud. Later, he became a member of this organization in 'Taka Anna Pai', 'Dayi Ke', 'Sampti'. ', 'Injustice' and participated in 6 stage plays.
Finally, in 1968, after passing the secondary level, he was admitted to Chandpur Government College due to the transfer of his father's job. After completing higher secondary from Chandpur district, he was admitted to the Bio-Chemistry Department of Dhaka University in the same year.Later in 1971, when the education was stopped due to the beginning of the liberation war in the country, Humayun Faridi actively participated in the liberation war without completing his education. After the war, he returned to Jahangirnagar University and got admission in the Department of Economics. During his university life he maintained a close relationship with the eminent dramatist Salim Al Din.
Personal Life: Humayun Faridi has done two things in his personal life. He got married for the first time in the 1980s with Minu. The first marriage ended in 1984 with Minu's separation. He has a daughter named Shararat Islam Devyani from the first marriage.
After the separation in 1984, the actress married Subarna Mostafa and started a new family. No child was born in this family. They got divorced in 2008.
Career: Humayun Faridi was one of the organizers of the theater festival held in Jahangirnagar University in 1976. Through this festival, Humayun Faridi became a well-known face in theater. While still a university student, she became a member of Dhaka Theatre. Humayun Faridi acted in Tanveer Mokammel's short film Hulia in 1984. In 1985, Humayun Faridi made his full-length film debut with Sheikh Niamat Ali's Dahan. Acted in Taukeer Ahmed's movie Jayayatra.

The legendary actor died on February 13, 2012 at his home in Dhanmondi, Dhaka. The body of popular actor Humayun Faridi was taken to the Mirpur Shaheed Intellectual Cemetery in an ambulance from the Japan-Bangladesh Friendship Hospital. Earlier at 10 a.m. Humayun Faridi's body was taken to the central Shaheed Minar premises and a guard of honor was given to this freedom fighter.
