 In a public meeting organized by Awami League in Kawala of the capital on Saturday, October 14, the Prime Minister said that the hunger strike of BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia was dramatized.

The Prime Minister addressed the BNP leaders and said that BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia is so sick that she will die. She is old, she is also sick. Even after he is so sick, why does his son Tarek Rahman not come to see his mother? How is his son Tarek Rahman?

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, BNP has no contribution in changing the fate of the people of the country. Whatever progress has been made in the country is the contribution of the Awami League government. We have proved that. BNP has not been able to do anything for the people of the country since it was in power for 29 years. Khaleda Zia was forced to resign in a month and a half through agitation and struggle for her crime of stealing the power of BNP. Awami League has been struggling for the people of the country since its inception.

He said that in the 2001 election, Begum Khaleda Zia came to power with the guarantee of selling gas. Such an offer was made to me too but I am the daughter of Sheikh Mujib, greedy for power, I cannot sell the dreams of the people of the country.

Stating that the Awami League has established the country's democracy through struggle, Sheikh Hasina said that if the democratic process continues and those who believe in the country's democracy are in power, then today we have proved that the country will improve.

The public meeting was held under the chairmanship of Dhaka Metropolitan North Awami League president Bazlur Rahman and general secretary SM Mannan Kochi. Central leaders and activists of Awami League and metropolitan leaders participated in the said public meeting.
