Durga Puja, the biggest festival of Hindus begins on Friday, October 20 (2 Kartik)

 




Durga Puja is a different emotion and feeling for all Bengalis. People eagerly wait for the arrival of Mother Durga throughout the year. Durga Puja or Durgotsava is celebrated every year in different countries of the world including Bangladesh and India.

Mother Durga Shakti Devi. She is Adhyashakti Mahamaya. She is the goddess of cosmic energy. She is called Durga because she destroys Durgati. She danced Durgam Asura. That is why her name is Durga.

Mahalaya is falling on October 14. Mahasashti will begin on Friday October 20 and the Durga Puja will end on Tuesday October 24 with Vijay Dashami.


Every year Maa Durga arrives and departs in a different vehicle. This year Dashabhuja Maa Durga both arrives and departs on a Ghotak/Ghouda.


After about a year Dasabhuja Maa Durga came to Mortloka. After a few days he left for Kailash. Every year people wait for these days for 365 days. When the fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth and tenth days of Durga Puja will start, Bengalis have various emotions surrounding this Durga Puja.
