On Saturday, October 30, around 10 am, there was a massive shooting incident between the two sides of the Chhatra League over the spread of dominance in the bus terminal market area of Pabna district. Eight people were shot. And they were admitted to the emergency hospital. Their names were not found.
According to eyewitnesses and police sources, it is known that in front of Pabna Women's College, there was a fight between the former vice president of Pabna Zila Chhatra League Mehdi Hasan and the former organizing secretary of Municipal Chhatra League Ifte Arafat Sifat group. Besides, the two groups had a massive clash at around 10 o'clock in the morning due to their office. Eight people were shot dead in the firing. Several people were injured and the injured were rushed to Pabna General Hospital. Most of the injured were members of the Mehdi group.
Confirming the matter, Pabna Police Station OC Kripa Sindhu said that when Mehdi and his men were going to the party office, Sifat's men opened fire on them and eight people were shot dead. Now additional police have been deployed and the environment is fairly normal.
Pabna District Chhatra League President Mizanur Rahman said the people of Sifat attacked the people of Mizan. This problem has been going on since before. We solved the problem several times, but after a few days, they get involved in such problems again
On the other hand, the former organizing secretary of Municipal Chhatra League Ibn Arafat Sifat said that I was talking on the mobile phone in front of my office when Mehdi's people suddenly attacked me. Somehow my life was saved.
