Habibur Rahman was appointed as Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police.

Last 20 September-2023, in a notification of the Ministry of Home Affairs, it is known that Additional IGP Habibur Rahman has become the Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP). He is currently serving as the Chief of Tourist Police.

Current DMP Commissioner Khandkar Ghulam Farooq's term of appointment expires on October 2-23. DMP new commissioner Habibur Rahman will contact his duty on October 3-23.

DMP new commissioner Mr. Habibur Rahman BCS 17th batch police officer has performed the important duties of DC, SP Dhaka district, IGP Dhaka range and police headquarters at DMP headquarters.

The newly appointed Commissioner of DMP, Mr. Habibur Rahman Sir, was born in 1967 in Chandradighlia village of Gopalganj district. He received various awards during his duty for his talent, hard work, efficiency, honesty and bravery. He likes writing. Three edited a book called 'Resistance'.

He also worked with Bede Janagosti, Rajbari Daulatdia sex workers and third gender people, children of Daulatdia brothels. He founded a foundation called Uoran. Besides being a sports organizer, his role in building the Liberation War Museum at Rajarbagh Police Lines Telecom Building is undeniable.
